| Progressive slots are the slots that accumulate a great jackpot and always require the
maximum number of coins to qualify for a jackpot win, should you be lucky enough to hit the
big one. The amount of the jack pot is determined by the input of coins and increases with
each incremental unit. These are dynamic jackpots jackpots because the are always growing. A Static jackpot will stay at a certain level untill someone hits it and then it starts over again at that level. For example if the jackpot on machine X is 1000 coins for 3 sevens, it will never be more than 1000 coins. However, a Progressive jackpot is set at a starting point, lets say 2,500.00 and increases with each coin played, sometimes to a maximum amount and then remains static untill someone hits it, at which time it is reset and the process starts all over again. A hit on a progressive slot can make your day or even year, depending on the size of the hit. The money paid out on a progressive win in no way affects the Casinos bottom line since all jackpots are merely a hold percentage of what has been played, in other words it's all players money, at least it was at one time. The odds on hitting a progressive Jackpot are in direct proportion to the amount of the jackpot, small progressives are hit often whereas large giant progressive hits can be calculated in months. the more often it will hit. The larger the jackpot the less often it will hit. I have seen a
progressive nickle machine stuck at the maximum of 30,000.00 for well over 2 years and
